There are three common and key factors that are present in communities of people who are vulnerable to exploitation:
few employment opportunities,
a lack of education
a worldview of desperation.
We aim to change this.
Around the world, we focus on the root causes of poverty and exploitation, then shape our efforts to create opportunities to realize different futures for those who are vulnerable.
Trips
Come with us on the experience of a lifetime. Learn about culture and history, taste great food, meet amazing locals and see our projects. In the places DF works, tourism is vital to provide jobs and create opportunities for development.
Scholorships
To keep children in school, DF offers scholarships to cover the costs of uniforms, tuitions, school fees, and lunches. Children who are members of vulnerable families – refugees, lower income families, gypsies - need to establish a trail of documentation, register for school and step into their future.
A word about Prevention…
When one first learns about what really happens to those who are trafficked and exploited, the immediate response is often, “Let’s help the victims or survivors.”
And this is good!
We ask the question often and regularly about those who are on the road to being exploited or trafficked, “What if they never saw the inside of a brothel? What if they were never forced to work in a bonded labor factory? What if they were never trafficked?
What if they had the opportunity for a Different future?”
